Solana token accounts hold a small SOL balance for rent exemption (~0.002 SOL). After a token balance reaches zero, its empty account can be closed and that reserved SOL is returned to the wallet owner. SOLBurner places token burning and account cleanup in the same interface.
Five practical answers about burns and token accounts.
The selected quantity is permanently removed from your wallet and the token supply through a Solana token-program instruction. The burned amount cannot be restored later.
Solana accounts maintain a small rent-exempt balance so they can exist on-chain. Once a token account has no tokens left, you can close the account and return that reserved SOL to your wallet.
Burning changes the token balance. Closing removes the on-chain account that held the token. A token account must have a zero balance before it can be closed, so you may burn first and close afterward.
